Common Cold, Viral Infections and Flu
It is impossible to avoid exposure to viruses. The strength of your immune system will determine how and if you will get sick.
The most common flu symptoms are chills, fever, runny nose, sore throat, muscle pain, severe headache, coughing, fatigue, weakness, and general discomfort.
Studies have repeatedly shown that taking Vitamin C daily reduces the incidence, severity, and duration of colds. Minimum dosage for helping colds is 1000 mg. per day, optimum dosage would be about 3000 mg., but every one cannot tolerate 3000 mg. If you take too much Vitamin C you will get bloating and diarrhea, just back off on your dosage and the symptoms will subside. If you combine good nutrition, immune boosting nutrients, and Vitamin C supplementation, your results will be even better.
Avoid mucus forming foods – dairy products, eggs and excessive meat are mucus forming.
Follow a high-energy pure food diet packed with fresh fruit and vegetables (and their juices).
Take a sugar-free Vitamin C supplement daily – at least 1000 mg.
Drink cat’s claw tea three times a day to boost the immune system.
